Notice of GNU/Linux Users workshop, next Wednesday, June 1st, 7.30pm,
Sydenham Community Association Hall, 25 Hutcheson Street, Sydenham.
Derek Smithies will guide us through a user's-eye view of the Emacs
program editor. As Emacs's especial claim to fame is direct
incorporation of command line calls and shortcuts, this session will be
doubly informative for new and advancing users alike.
The sample code will be C. The second part of the evening will compare C
to newer languages like Python, Pike, HTML and PHP, using Emacs. So
Emacs will be tested, as both a development environment and a *nix
teaching aid.
All welcome. Light supper and overhead costs are met by donations.
Discussion of the workshop series and all Free Software issues are
encouraged on GNUz mailing list. Hoping to see you there,
Regards,
