14 at the moment. 3 joined so far today.

Because subscriptions are open (i.e. no human intervention) I've closed 
the subscriber list so that only the list admin can see them (currently 
I'm the only list admin). This prevents spammers from joining the list 
and harvesting the addresses.

Unfortunately it doesn't stop spammers posting to the list - but the 
messages only go as far as me, because they're not from list members. 
Until that gets forged too.
