OneRNG and Windows

I recently received my OneRNG External and I hope someone can help with my problem.

I have installed the device on a USB port and installed the driver.  I ran RealTerm (terminal emulator software) and can send commands successfully.  I can start the device (LED dims), capture the random numbers output, and stop the device (LED brightens) without any problem.

Now my Windows program creates a virtual com port and sends the start command.  According to Portmon, I can see that the command was sent successfully.  Verified command in both ascii and hex, but the device will not turn on.

Any help appreciated.
