sorry I've taken a while to respond .... can I ask what platform are you using 
- the original (boxy) unit? the unit we shipped from China (some of which 
suffered from overheating)? or a unit that I've replaced since?

I expect an original unit to not perform as well as a current unit - I did 
some firmware changes on the newer devices to collect twice as much entropy 
per bit so the published results are expected to be better for the newer parts 
.... but not that bad.

If you have one of the original made-in-China units that hasn't been replaced 
due to overheating I'd suggest replacing it, even though the year's warranty 
is almost up I will continue to replace those units
