I've just reviewed random.c changes from 4.1-rc7 back down to
2.6.12-rc2, and can recommend a good look to anybody interested.

INPUT_POOL_WORDS has since changed to a bit shift.

I'm not sure of a use case for a larger pool; and I wonder what the
risks are.
