OneRNG in Ubuntu

I'm running the OneRNG in a special setup:
 
Host is Mac OS X 10.10.4 and VM is Ubuntu 14.04 in Parallels.
The device registers in Mac OS as '00'
I installed all the drivers in Ubuntu as described for debian, that worked fine
I have connected USB device '00' to the VM
LED state is slow blinking
when I run "cat /dev/random >/dev/null" there is no change in LED state.
Any pointers on how to fix this?
