It was a tradeoff between what's feasible and what's sensible.  mu-metal cages
are typically large multi-layer affairs, I was thinking more of applying
commercial adhesive-backed stuff used for shielding audio gear.  If you want
full shielding then things start to get somewhat ridiculous, for example you
also need to deal with ionising radiation, excessive cold and heat, and other
stuff.

So Paul's "don't do that, then" seems like the best approach.  mu-metal foil
was just a low-cost way of dealing with at least some of the problem.
