(opps -replied directly to Charles, not to the list...)

TLDR: saying that a NZ$333 oscilloscope has poor protocol decoding
vs a US$780+GST+freight logic analyzer says nothing. But saying it
is worse than a $12 logic analyzer does.

Sigh, I should have guessed this would come up. As the saying
goes, "No good deed goes unpunished"

Yes, these cheapies worked with that other software (maybe they
still do?). I deliberately mentioned that they also work with
Sigrok, https://sigrok.org

No, I am not telling anybody to use that other software. I didn't
mention it. Sigrok works just fine. The Aliexpress link given does
not mention that other software either.

Those other ones are far better products, with far more features
and a big price tag (USD$479) that make it unrealistic for casual
hobbyist use, even if you sweet-talk them into a hobbyist
discount.

If anybody does want a multichannel logic analyzer you don't have to
break into your Agilent dealer, I've got a "Digilent Digital
Discovery" and high speed adapter board I've never used, and will
take sensible offer (say $NZ 200). 32 channels @ 800MS/s

This email written on an "IBM Compatible PC", but that doesn't
mean I have been stealing from IBM.
