<div dir="ltr"><div>Some years back (1989 or so) I used stuff called FIFO RAM: basically a parallel in parallel out FIFO. I see it is still around, though obscenely expensive.<br><br></div>I used it in a parallel port INPUT board I designed for a PC that accepted the data into the FIFO then DMAd it into memory where we could process it further (we were emulating a plotter attached via parallel port). some 15 years ago.<br>
