Hello All,
Anyone have any experience running compiled C on an ESP8266 ?

I have in the recent past been programming them in C using the Arduino Addon as per https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/esp8266-thing-hookup-guide/installing-the-esp8266-arduino-addon

For me the problem was finding the jumper settings that allowed the board to accept and then boot the firmware, I had to pull one DIO pin high for the 'sketch' to run.
