Hi Gayathri,

Congratulations on finding our mailing list and thanks for asking about our Robotics club.
We are a diverse group of people interested robotics and all the technologies that feed into robotics. We gather once a month on the third Monday and anyone of any age is welcome to come along. At the moment we meet at Tait Radio Communications in Training Room 2 located at 175 Roydvale Avenue, park in the south side car park. We post a notice on the entrance door and if you can't locate us ring me on 022 606 8673 and we'll come and find you. Sometimes people do presentations on items they have brought for show and tell, or something that they found interesting. Presentations may be as simple or sophisticated as folks wish. We've had interesting presentations from 6 year olds upwards. We have a RoboSumo ring that we can bring out if folks have robots to pit against each other. At our next meeting I've been encouraging Robin to do a presentation on Git software version control which could be loosely related to robotics. We meet from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. The early start is so that young ones may attend and leave part way through without missing too much. I've kept the best news until last. We have no membership list, no committee, and no membership fees because Tait very kindly allow us free use of their facilities. Our next meeting will be on Monday 20th August.

Anyone else have anything to add to my ramblings? Anyone offering to present a topic at next meeting?

Richard

On Fri, Aug 3, 2012 at 7:22 PM, Gayathri Kongara <gayathri.kongara@canterbury.ac.nz> wrote:
We have recently been to a robotics display event at Tait electronics and are interested to get our son join the club. Could I please have a bit more information on the christchurch robotics website and club meeting times/days?
