completely OT, but managed to ask the question about 25 seconds before
handing over some cash...<br><br>
Dick Smith appear to have stopped their "no quibble" returns
policy "if you don't like it after you have opened it, return it
with packaging for a full refund" -- This was the main reason that I
used them.<br><br>
Norman Ross seem OK with refunds on unopened, and store credit for opened
product.<br><br>
Harvey Norman seem one of the least co-operative with the comment
"we can't sell second hand product" - I pretty much refuse to
deal with them.<br><br>
PowerStore have a 28 day try-it policy, they seem good people to deal
with.<br><br>
Not sure about Noel Leeming.<br><br>
Any others who sell discounted consumer electronics ?<br><br>

Background: As part of the Digital TV project
(<a href="http://www.idesignz.org/DigiLiteZL/DigiLiteZL.htm">
http://www.idesignz.org/DigiLiteZL/DigiLiteZL.htm</a>) I am interested in
a low cost live feed of un-encrypted baseband HDMI video from a Still or
Video camera. the unit must not switch off after a timeout. Try finding
that kind of detail in the manual...<br><br>
The only purchasing approach that I can think of is to buy a product that
might do the job, experiment and return for a refund if doesn't do what
you want.<br><br>
It would be nice if consumer products had a SMPTE-259-M (or SMPTE-292-M
!) spigot, but those toys are a bit more expensive.<br><br>

Merry Xmas.<br><br>
