I advise lots of caution with these I2C cameras.<div>While I have been successful with an analog NTSC camera, I've been unable to reliably get RAW images from I2C cameras. For my DanceBot I used a high speed ADC to grab full frame rate video coming from a greyscale composite camera. </div>
<div>I've tried a number of I2C cameras but never achieved much success. The forum posts also don't inspire much confidence- doesn't look like anyone actually got them to work- after being on the market for years. In my experience the datasheets/manuals are too incomplete/buggy to get things running. I think they have too many configurable options- of which only one works as advertised.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Please, please show me wrong- ideally I'd love to get raw RGB frames at vga quality and decent speed ~1fps out of a digital camera. </div><div><br></div><div>Hanno</div><div><br></div><div><div><div class="gmail_quote">

</div>The ADC on the board is too limited for video handling, but a digital camera<br>
interface would be good. For example USD10 will buy<br>
you:<a href="http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8668" target="_blank">http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8668</a> or<br>
<a href="http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8667" target="_blank">http://www.sparkfun.com/products/8667</a><br>
<br>
One of those + FPGA + 32MB of SDRAM and you should be able to do something<br>
interesting.<br>
