I have been using a free app called macrodroid.
This let's you configure a workflow that gets triggered from a large number of system events such as a timer or connectivity.
My use case was to wake at a certain time, take a photo, disable airplane mode, email the photo, enable airplane mode and go back to sleep.
Cheers,
Rudy

Subject: [chbot] WWOL for Android
All,
I am hoping to use a bunch of older Android tablets in the garage as
display devices. These units will be wired to 5V chargers and hopefully
can be configured so they can be placed in a low power mode with
wireless switched on and attached to the local WiFi network. All high
power stuff (graphics, backlight) of the tablets will be switched off.
When the units need to display something, I am hoping to wake them up by
sending a magic packet to each of the devices MAC addresses, and waking
them up using Wireless Wake On LAN.
With the devices awake and a browser running in each device and attached
to a small local HTTP server, messages can then be served to each device
to be displayed.
There seem to be lots of stuff on the web about using an Android device
to wake a PC, but little about waking an Android Device from a PC.
Does anyone have any experience waking Android 10 devices remotely ?
Thanks, Mark
