[chbot] [OT] - Reading a water meter?

Hi

With the new excess water use charges

coming in I did a leak check and suspect we may have a water leak. But I'm
a bit confused about the water meter reading and am hoping someone on the
list can help me understand my water meter.

According to the CCC website

some areas have water meters that read in gallons! Since our house was
built in the 60's we might have one of these. The website seems to indicate
that a meter with 3 white & 3 red wheels is reading in gallons and one with
7 white & 4 red wheels is reading in litres. But our meter has 4 white & 3
red wheels. So is it in gallons or litres?

Else I guess I could always phone the council.

Can anyone shed any light?
