Project originator is Liam Katavich from Auckland; I have backed it, and so has someone else from Christchurch (one of you, perhaps?).
You build the chassis yourself from RHS filled with epoxy granite, or 3D-printed moulds filled with same, and add what I think is about
NZ$5000 worth of parts including MASSO controller to get an industrial-grade machine with a more than 300mm cubic work volumecapable of machining steel, etc.  You will probably have to get some machining done on some steel to make some of the required parts as well.

This campaign is to cover the costs of his revision 2 changes to the prototype- lights, more z axis height, hinges, better frame rigidity, etc. His plan is to have it built and videoed by September - November. His revision 1 campaign raised NZ$6500, and with the NZ$2500 of the current campaign, I am guessing his material costs are covered. Personally, I am very appreciative and grateful for his efforts in realising this vision.
