[chbot] Pool temperature sensor

This is for Robin. Could the sensor be a DS18B20 1-wire temperature sensor,
running in parasite power mode?

Easy to program an Arduino or similar to act as a 1-wire host and
interrogate it. Or put a scope on the not-ground pin.

It would explain why the wire can be cut to any length, since it's a
digital device. The longest practical length is quite long, and the
shortest is a direct connect to the micro.

Or it could be something else.
