Hello everyone,
Couple of new faces this evening; welcome.
Good turnout with 22 attendees, and lots of huddles-of tech-talk. $40 +
change (in gold, and flat-money) collected and transferred into the
robotics loose-change jar (for later banking).
Quick reminder: equipment donations are welcome for the trading table,
but no CRT based product, printers, toner or items that are likely to be
a disposal burden. All sales from the trading table should go into the
brown box on the wall, and are directly for the benefit of our host
club, NZART Branch 05.
With thanks on behalf of the group,
Mark Atherton
============
Mark talked about an optical failure within a 3-CCD broadcast TV camera.
Also, an introduction to low loss RF transmission using LDF-500 coax,
and DIN 7/16” connectors.
Hanno caused a wee bit of interest when he turned up in his new EV, a
Tesla Model 3. See

Hanno also talked about his involvement with education, and the local
aerospace ‘meetup’ events. Hopefully he will post further details to our
email reflector.
Bevin turned up with another of his mechanical-calculator-marvels, this
evening, an Eastern Bloc machine. He also gave very positive review of
the Apollo 11 movie, along with a detailed technical description of the
1201/1202 landing alarms.
Russell talked about super-caps, the good the bad etc.
William talked about the continuing adventure of his homemade watch,
including latest low-power updates.
Steven brought in a small, air-cooled, adjustable 80V / 6A power supply,
with a price-point of around $65.
Robin gave us an update on the ‘Kiwi’ project.
