If all else fails, the Cat6 cable at 100MBps might work better than you
think. No optical isolation needed as the ethernet has transformer
isolation at both ends, although PoE bypasses this. If you are running
pipes around the place, it wouldn't hurt (much) to include a run or two as
a backup plan. Even if there is interference from the electric fence, it
has a low duty cycle, so the ethernet gear should just retry automatically.
