Hello everyone,

A new face this evening; welcome.

Enthusiastic turnout with 24 attendees, and lots of huddles-of
tech-talk. $24 + change (in gold, and flat-money) collected and
transferred into the robotics loose-change jar (for later banking).

Quick reminder: equipment donations are welcome for the trading table,
but no CRT based product, printers, toner or items that are likely to be
a disposal burden. All sales from the trading table should go into the
brown box on the wall, and are directly for the benefit of our host
club, NZART Branch 05.

Thank you Trevor for locking up for me.

With thanks on behalf of the group,

Mark Atherton

============

David B brought in some ‘Z-petrol’ wireless, green thumbs up units. Of
course he had to modify one to become a red, thumbs down unit. This was
followed by a discussion about his large format colour digital printer –
which is quite a dark art.

Synco brought in, and talked about his ‘Astro Compass MKII’, a hand
held, opto-mechanical navigation computer of WWII vintage.

Bevin gave a video-assisted talk about image-processing optimisation.
This is really quite a fascinating field and he appears to have embraced
this discipline with gusto.

Peter continued the discussion about a design for a scalable, high
voltage, current generator he plans to use as part of a photo-voltaic
energy system. Lots of head scratching in the audience; a fascinating
project.

Graham gave us an update on his EDM (spark eroding) project. He is
making good progress, and brought in some very interesting sample of his
work.

Chris gave a brief talk about his 6 x 500F (Farad) capacitor bank which
he used to start his car this morning. Quite amazing for a $50 assembly.
