[chbot] Snubber circuits

Does anyone have experience with measuring contact spikes at 240Vac? I
don't feel like blowing up a scope...

There's a procedure for measuring the load inductance. Add a smallish
RC snubber to the relay contact. Measure decay time. Add a known
capacitance to the snubber capacitor, measure decay time again. The
difference is determined by the load inductance (and the phase angle at
turnoff time...).
