That is soooo cool. :-)

Back in the early 90's I fixed one for a customer. Turned out to be a
busted spring for a roller in the heads / sensor area but it was neat to
work on.

>From (vague) memory it was being used to convert paper tape archival
information from a PDP11 to magnetic tape that could be read into a more
current Pick system.

It was a welcome diversion from the day to day 'rise of the clones' we
were seeing in the 90's.
