GSM voice will soon be switched off, leaving 3G (HSDPx) and 4G
(not-a-clue). Pretty sure that newer phone systems use an encrypted
channel to carry phone ID stuff -- need to check this.
Prevention vs Cure etc. The realities of getting the police involved
seem remote to me. If you are serious about this then you should talk to
them first and find out what kind of information they need to secure
confiscation of equipment / arrest. Not taking this step leaves you wide
open to the vagaries of second guessing the legal situation and spending
huge time, money and effort for nought.
Same issues relate to the NZTA system - what is recorded, for how long,
and who has authorized access to it.
Like the idea of an audio recorder triggered by the drone acoustic
signature...
Again, not sure if jammed drones fall out of the sky, hover, or return
to launch site (via GPS). more opportunities for speculation.
It seems reasonable that drones will use ISM for control, it seems
reasonable that you are allowed to take steps to protect yourself and
your property, it seems reasonable that you can post notices warning
drone owners that they are not permitted to fly over your air-space.
Again, this is only my viewpoint, and is speculation.
