Very reliable, but 3 different options to set it up and high probability
of user error because networking can be complex. The vmnet option
involves configuring a network in the global virtualbox settings first,
before you can select it in the per-vm network settings.

Will work. Haven't needed to use it, but people do that all the time to
supply demo installs of complex software packages.
