I get a rash when I work with IDEs because they are just too hard to
control (ie. you're always having to fiddle with things which makes it hard
to know what you're getting).
As a result I tend to just use make files, an editor, and a debugger.
On ubuntu etc, the arm tools are in
apt-get install gcc-arm-none-eabi binutils-arm-none-eabi gdb-arm-none-eabi
That will cover you for all the M0,M3,... devices AFAIK.
