That argument is dead, given the fact that the internal "SD card", a
separate filesystem that becomes available as a USB storage device when
switched over, is also using this abominably braindead vfat!
Even if you have no use for mickeymouse on your real micro SD card and
format it with something decent, like ext2/3/4, android is too stupid to
use it like that! Yes I tried.

Hads is right on the money!

And an extra 16GB flash for the nexus 5 costs $100 or so - that's
extortionate and in no way reflects actual cost. A 32GB microSD card
costs $30 or less. Speed is irrelevant, android device access speed is
diabolical in every way I tried.
